The Banstead Horticultural Society (BHS) was the original idea of the Rev Arthur Wells Hopkinson who was the Vicar of Banstead from 1918 to 1929. The objective of the society is to promote horticulture within the Parish of Banstead by means of lectures, discussions, exhibitions and the exchange of plants and advice. Over the years the quality of the exhibits at the shows has received much praise with the society gaining an enviable reputation as the best organised and set out show around.
"When the world wearies and society ceases to satisfy there is always the garden"
The society has a good exhibitor base, but its membership is increasingly centred round exhibitor’s families. Like all societies, the committee needs more people to volunteer to help to ensure its future.
It is constantly adjusting its schedule to reflect modern trends and looks forward to the next 25 years, seeking to add to its membership and exhibitor base. For more information and membership visit the Banstead Horitcultural Society web site - www.bansteadhorticulturalsociety.com.

Schedule of Shows for 2020
You can download a copy of the schedule for the years 2019 and 2020.
A number of small changes have been made, so please read the schedule carefully before entering your Exhibits. As I am sure you are all aware our membership numbers are declining and I ask that you all try to recruit new member(s) when the opportunity arises. Despite the unpredictable weather our members continue to attain high standards in all classes.
May the quality of your labour produce a good harvest and happy gardening.
