About
Robustly opposed new large scale housing developments
We have successfully persuaded the council to stop many of these and have managed to achieve significant improvements to others that have proceeded. This activity was driven by feedback from our earlier survey that indicated that 81% of you felt the area could not accommodate more housing.
Lobby the councils
To improve some of the worst road surfaces in the area based on the ones you identified in our earlier survey as the highest priorities.
Organise the Nork Park Conservation Volunteers
The volunteers carry out tree and hedge planting, hedge laying, and scrub clearance.
Responsible for the provision of the Beecholme Recreation Ground pavilion
More recently, we have been responsible for the provision of the youth shelter, goal facility and children’s playground on the ground. Similarly, in Nork Park we were behind the provision of the youth shelter, the multi-use games area and the skate-park and its recent uprating.
Road safety measures
Specifically, we arranged for the provision of 30mph marking on the entry roads in Nork,  visually activated signs in Yew Tree Bottom Road, the move of the speed camera in the Brighton Road to reduce speeds at the Burgh Wood junction and the reduction to 30mph of the speed limit in Fir Tree Road, Epsom.
Police and Neighbourhood Watch
We liaise with the Surrey Police through chairmanship of Neighbourhood Panels.
Support the annual Music in the Park event
We give strong support to the annual Banstead West "Music in Nork Park" event which aims to encourage a community spirit to our area.
