George was elected as Reigate and Banstead Councillor for the Nork Ward in the Local Borough election held in May 2022. He believes together with the other two Borough Councillors that party politics are best left out of local government.

Biography

  • Resident of Nork for over 42 years.
  • Retired from an editorial career in magazine publishing in 2008.
  • Married to Sheila with an adopted daughter and three grand-daughters.
  • Set up the Nork Park Conservation Volunteers in 1990 and continues to
    organise its activities today.
  • Served on the Music in Nork Park Committee for many years when we
    took it over from the Borough Council to save it.
  • Has been an active member of the Residents Association for over 40
    years, including editorship of the Nork Quarterly and Chairman.
  • Has worked closely with the RA Borough Councillors since the first one,
    Michael Selby, was elected in 1986.
